PLRB is looking for experienced and enthusiastic insurance claim industry professionals to submit proposals and serve as presenters for the 2024 Regional Adjusters Conferences. This year we are planning to have a mixture of 60-minute and 90-minute sessions.

We are seeking qualified facilitators to share their expertise and speak about one of the following topics requested by PLRB Insurance Company Members. If there is a topic you feel would be beneficial to claims adjusters and is not listed below, feel free to submit a proposal to Bernadette Steele at bsteele@plrb.org.
Property
CA based earthquake certification class
Working with public adjusters, challenging contractors, and assignment of benefits issues
Appraisal clauses and process. Arbitration on property claims
Hail and/or wind damage to roofs and building envelope. Feasibility of repair versus replacement, and identification of natural versus man-made damage
Scoping and estimating property losses
Coverage Investigation, involving multiple issues such as: insurance contracts, sublimits, additional coverages, and multiple potential deductibles or complex issues like old versus new damage, ensuring loss, concurrent causation, matching issues.
Commercial property losses and coverage considerations, including agricultural claims (livestock and crops)
Handling claims with different policies or contracts, tenant improvements/betterments, condo cases, etc.
New exposures (solar, batteries, homesharing, Airbnb).
Working with supplements on property claims and supplement companies
Technology as it applies to property claims investigation and handling (3D imaging, image capture and measurements)
Casualty
Technology used in auto/casualty investigation or damage evaluation (infotainment, 3D scanning, LIDAR, animations, injury evaluation tech)
Dealing with supplements and tow and storage fees in auto accident cases
Wrongful death scenarios and evaluations
Serious injury evaluations
Coverage investigations involving commercial contracts, coverage dovetails between commercial policies (CGL, Commercial Auto, Garage)
E-vehicle exposures and coverage
Any complex casualty coverage area or topic
General Interest
Ethics
Fraud/SIU topics and coverage implications (cooperation, innocent insured, policy rescission,)
Dealing with Difficult Claim Circumstances and Communications
Listening skills
Building resiliency
Good faith claims adjusting
Diversity, equity and inclusion
Prospective speakers should select the curriculum they are interested in from the list of choices on the submission site and submit:
A clear title (no more than 12 words)
Three to four (3-4) learning objectives
A detailed outline showing how they intend to deliver either a 60-minute or 90-minute session.
A brief description of 100-words.
IMPORTANT: Submissions will not be considered unless the above-mentioned elements are included: clear title, 3-4 learning objectives, and detailed outline, and a brief description of 100-words.
The PLRB Regional Adjusters Conference sessions are adjuster education focused topics identified by our members as claims challenges for their staff. We ask that proposals refrain from including marketing or sales promotions of your company's claims products/solutions.

For the Regional Adjusters Conferences, the ideal partnership is that of a service provider or subject matter expert paired with an insurance company professional or independent adjuster. We ask that you present at both the Western Regional Adjusters Conference and the Central Regional Adjusters Conference. Our primary objective is to work with qualified presenters to present the very highest quality educational program for our attendees.
The submission deadline is Monday, December 18, 2023. The announcement of selected proposals and presenters will come during the first week of February 2024.
